Man – the measure of all things

Modern diagnostic imaging and an individually tailored treatment concept for the entire musculoskeletal system.

The practice in the Florakiez

At the private orthopaedic practice of Dr Christian Merettig in the Florakiez in Berlin-Pankow you have access to the full range of modern diagnostic imaging as well as an individually tailored treatment concept for the entire musculoskeletal system.

“Man is the measure of all things” is a statement by the Greek philosopher Protagoras. It stands for a view in which human perception and experience form the basis of knowledge — and for treatment that starts from your personal situation.

Diagnostics

As an experienced specialist practice I offer the diagnostic procedures of modern orthopaedics.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)

Detailed cross-sectional images of joints, soft tissue and the spine – entirely without X-rays. Dr Merettig holds the specialist additional qualification in magnetic resonance imaging.

Bone density measurement (DXA)

A short, low-radiation examination determines the mineral content of your bones. It is the basis for reliably assessing osteoporosis and for following its course over time.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound is radiation-free, painless and risk-free. It shows joints, soft tissue, muscles and tendons in real time – also in motion and while we talk it through together.

Treatment

In practice since 1995, using up-to-date treatment methods. With a clear focus on your individual situation I accompany you towards more mobility and quality of life.

Acupuncture

Dr Merettig holds the B diploma of the Acupuncture Research Group and serves as a specialist examiner at the Berlin Medical Association.

Periradicular therapy

For disc herniation, lumbar spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis and pain syndromes following spinal surgery.

Pain therapy

Pain is an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage. Additional qualification in special pain therapy.

Manual medicine

Manual treatment of functional disorders of the joints and the spine. Additional qualification in chirotherapy.

Cartilage protection

Current, scientifically based therapy for cartilage regeneration.

Sports medicine

Sports medicine examines the influence of exercise, training and sport on healthy and ill people of every age.

Medically supervised weight reduction

Medically supervised weight reduction relieves the entire musculoskeletal system.

Surgery

I no longer perform operations myself. However, I have 30 years of professional experience as a surgeon in hospitals and outpatient surgery centres.
